Stuart Allen is Chief Education Officer at SCL Education and Training Group, the national home of sports and creative education for 16 to 24-year-olds across more than 70 centres in England. He leads SCL’s curriculum and product portfolio in sport, performing arts, education, and retail, along with careers, progression and regional growth. He is steering the organisation through the biggest reshaping of post-16 education in a generation.

Stuart cares deeply about young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Some are capable and motivated but need a different way of learning. Others have been let down by things outside their control and first need a safe place, and an adult who sees past their behaviour. He believes both deserve provision built around who they are.

Stuart has been an Ofsted Inspector for further education and skills since 2022. He has held senior roles at The Skills Network and Chesterfield College and began his career as a Sport Science teacher.
